This module consists of 4 credits and it requires students to write a research project report/paper of between 4,000 to 6,000 words. This module assists students to embark on detailed research project on the topic chosen where students will be able to critically and creatively apply advanced level of knowledge, comprehensive and analytical skills to analyse and critique in solving complex disciplinary and practical problems and suggest solutions to issues through complex problem solving, analytical thinking, creative thinking, critical thinking, organizing, synthesising and develop original ideas or expand and enhance existing ideas and concepts through action research and writing. Students will also be able to extend knowledge and personal development independently and committed to lifelong learning with an entrepreneur mindset in utilising suitable digital, analytical tools and numeracy skills to solve problems and advance their knowledge and skills. Students will be able to conduct research project or investigation with minimal supervision and to uphold and defend ethical, legal, professional values, moral obligations and sustainable practices in providing services to the community and the society as a whole and produce a well-researched project report/ paper in accordance with the academic and ethical standards of the institution. In this module, students undergo self-directed learning and will need to consult the assigned supervisor for advice and guidance with respect to the research project execution, structure and content of students’ research project report/ paper. There is no teaching per se as the supervisor is not the sole provider of knowledge and information. The number of consultations are unlimited. However, students are expected to practice self and independent studies for at least 160 hours for this module. In this module, students will also learn the possible research areas connected to the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and United Nations Sustainable Goals (SDG 4 - Quality Research and Education & SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). Students will utilize online databases to explore how IR4.0 and digitalization affect and/or influence research.
